Myth of Normal Book Club
10 Sessions!
February 3rd - June 9th
Held In Person & Virtually
In this next session we will be reading:
The Myth of Normal
By Gabor & Daniel Maté
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Over four decades of clinical experience, Maté has come to recognize the prevailing understanding of “normal” as false, neglecting the roles that trauma and stress, and the pressures of modern-day living, exert on our bodies and our minds at the expense of good health. For all our expertise and technological sophistication, Western medicine often fails to treat the whole person, ignoring how the toxicity of today’s culture stresses the body, burdens the immune system, and undermines emotional balance.
Now Maté brings his perspective to the great untangling of common myths about what makes us sick, connects the dots between the maladies of individuals and the declining soundness of society—and offers a compassionate guide for health and healing. Co-written with his son Daniel, The Myth of Normal is Maté’s most ambitious and urgent book yet.
THIS IS THE START OF SOMETHING MORE.

Sacred Learning Space
When we read books, we enter into a new world. We see things differently, including ourselves and the world around us! We may not even be the same person we were coming in as we are when we turn that final page. There is a special kind of magic that resides in this place.
As you open up your book, you are entering into a sacred learning space that awaits your openness and wonder. What awaits you there is within the same magnitude and power that you put in. You will learn just how to make the most of it.
What you’re getting:
10 in person/ virtual discussion workshops where we will dissect what we’ve learned, open up about our personal findings, and get to learn the material through the eyes of those we are on this journey with. Our first meeting will be on Friday February 3rd at 11am. We will meet every other Friday for 10 meetings total!
Brunch Closing Ceremony at the end of our book club. This ceremony will be used as a way to close our container, celebrate completing the journey together and enjoy a very special and meaningful ceremony to honor our time together.
Integration Assignments sent after each group discussion to give us hands on practices to implement what we have learned into our every day life! This is the ticket to making sure the wisdom of the book does not leave us once we put it down.
A Private WhatsApp Chat Group. This will be our place of sharing and posting quotes that stopped us in our tracks, questions to pose to the group, and check in points.
